#1 Artworks Expert

MACPO's Department of Conservation & Restoration, #1 international training program

MACPO's Department of Conservation & Restoration is headed by Director Rafael Díaz Chacón, Ph.D.  is an  international training program that caters specifically to universities, museums, galleries and art dealers that prepares  individuals to become experts in the field of analysis and restoration artwork. It is the premiere Artworks Expert program in all of South America.

Certified Analysis

A certified analysis (Certificate of Authenticity) and video documentation of the process from the Museum of Contemporary and Postmodern Art (MACPO) in conjunction with EAFYS art school  both headed by Professor Rafael Díaz Chacon, Ph.D.  accompanies every major work of art we offer. The analysis describes in detail the work of art,  but not limited to the title, artist, date, medium, edition, signature, dimensions, catalogue references, historical documentation, and tests conducted. As for the type of scientific testing conducted, all our paintings offered go through extensive state of the art  SEM (scanning electron  microscope) and X-ray (stereoradiography and  autoradiography) scanning . The SEM is used to identify phases based on qualitative chemical analysis and/or crystalline structure of the painting, as opposed to the 2 types of X-ray testing are stereoradiography (3D), which operates the same way as medical x-rays, and autoradiography which uses beta particles.  Each type of X-ray can show different things in a painting that would otherwise not be seen.

Pablo Ruíz Picasso

“I paint objects as I think them, not as I see them.”    Pablo Ruíz Picasso

"Picasso was the first rock-star artist, whose wild visions gripped the public imagination and changed 20th-century art for ever. But his flamboyant personality divided opinion. Was he a playful genius, as some suggest, or a capricious and cruel misanthrope who left battered lives in his wake..."  The Guardian

"One of the most famous artists in history Pablo Ruíz Picasso (1881-1973) was a Spanish painter, sculptor and poet.  He is considered a co-founder of cubism, a co-inventor of collage, the inventor of constructed sculpture, and the world's most prolific painter.  In a career spanning 78 years, he amassed 300 sculptures, 13,500 paintings, 34,000 illustrations and 100,000 prints and engravings. "  Wikipedia

"Picasso's final works were a mixture of styles, his means of expression in constant flux until the end of his life.  Devoting his full energies to his work, Picasso became more daring, his works more colorful and expressive, and from 1968 to 1971 he produced a torrent of paintings and hundreds of copperplate etchings.  At the time these works were dismissed by most as pornographic fantasies of an impotent old man or the slapdash works of an artist who was past his prime.  Only later, after Picasso's death, when the rest of the art world had moved on from abstract expressionism, did the critical community come to see that Picasso had already discovered neo-expressionism and was, as so often before, ahead of his time."  Art-Picasso.com

"In the years since his death in 1973, Picasso’s stature as an artist elevated to the highest ranks, with some of his works going for more than $100 million in public auctions and reportedly at even higher sums in private deals. Currently, he remains the top-grossing artist at auction worldwide, raking in $245 million across 3,400 lots in 2020 alone."  ARTnews.
